9.5 Alive was created by Larry, Deborah and Macie Linne due to the inspiration of “A Hole in Our Gospel”, by Richard Stearns.
The book spoke about the world and how people are not taking care of the widows, orphans, and the poor. The book spoke of the incredible number of children that are killed, die of very simple complications, die of very horrific diseases, and are orphaned every day.
9.5 million children are impacted every year by war, lost parents, parents giving them away because they can’t care for them, and fatal disease. This is an unacceptable outcome for a modern world.
The unfortunate part of this story is many of these children (if not most) would live if they had simple things like clean water, a wall of safety, mothers that were educated, and basic hygiene.
9.5 Alive was created to raise money to support these children and to educate women.
Our objective is to impact 9.5 million children in our lifetime. The fund has zero overhead and no employees. We do not allow any of the money to go to staff or organizational structure. 100% of the funds are, or will be, directed to organizations that already have feet on the ground in these 3rd world countries.
We want to fund the work that is already in place. These countries typically do not need another ministry or organization to spend a ton of money flying over, setting up living quarters, or spending money on administration. These countries and their people need to have well dug for fresh water, money to purchase goats and healthy animals, walls to protect young girls from being stolen into sex trade, and more.
Giving to 9.5 Alive is easy. The fund is set up at the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. Again, this is because we do not want to have a fancy system that creates overhead. Donations can be made at https://www.mycommunityfoundationnc.org/donate.
About 1/2 way down the page you will see a “designation” pulldown. 9.5 Alive is listed as one of the funds where you can donate. The donation is 100% tax deductible.
Thank you so much for any support you can give to this organization.
